Dr. Ismajli is a NIDA INVEST/CTN Fellow at the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute for March 2011-2012. The INVEST/CTN Drug Abuse Research Fellowship teams non-U.S. drug abuse scientists with mentors from the National Drug Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network (CTN) to combine postdoctoral research training with professional development activities and grant-writing guidance. Dr. Ismajli will be working with the Pacific Northwest Node of the NIDA Clinical Trials Network.

Research Interests:

  • Screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment for substance abuse, particularly among youth
  • PTSD, having worked for a number of NGOs in Kosovo that deal with the aftermath of the atrocities of war
  • HIV/AIDS, which has a high prevalence in Kosovo and is highly co-morbid with substance abuse
